In his youth he founded Ze'irei Mizrachi in the city of Gorzkowice, and published a religious Zionist paper called Tehiyyah. He moved to Palestine in 1924 continued his role as a Zionist leader there, attending Zionist Congresses, and as part of the Zionist General Council.
