Compiled and arranged by Zosa Szajkowski (Szajko Frydman; 1911–1978), Jewish French-American historian and bibliographer. He was an active communist until after his bitter experiences with Stalinism fighting in the Spanish revolution; he fought with the American armed forces in WWII and afterward devoted his life to research at YIVO.
