Hubbard, Alice and Elbert : Two printed quotations

NP, ND

Two printed cards with quotations from the Hubbards. The Alice Hubbard card is dark brown printed in red and black; it measures 5-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches. It reads "Independence is just as dear to woman as it is to man." The Elbert Hubbard card is tan, printed in red and black, 5-1/8 x 2-1/2 inches. It reads: "The man who is worthy of being a leader of men will never complain of the stupidity of his helpers, of the ingratitude of mankind, nor of the inappreciation of the public. These things are all a part of the great game of life, and to meet them and not go down before them in discouragement and defeat is the final proof of power." Elbert Hubbard was a writer, fine printer, and founder of the Roycrofters, an artisan community in East Aurora, NY devoted to hand craftsmanship.
