Original unprinted white sewn wrappers in printed black wrappers. This is the author's exceedingly rare first book, a chapbook of poetry, which precedes by 14 years what is normally called his first book of poetry (Collecting the Animals, 1972, winner of the Lamont Prize) by knowledgeable dealers and sources (Wikipedia does not even list this book in the author's publications). Although there are a handful of copies listed by World Cat in institutional collections, we can find no auction records of this book being sold. From the library of noted Georgia poet, novelist, and critic Marion Montgomery whose signature and date (May 14, 1958) are on the unprinted cover verso. Some old discoloration on inside cover edges from where the book had originally been glued into the black wrappers else near fine in the wrappers with some fading near the spine and top edges front and rear..
