Plastic binder. 4to. 2, [1], 105 pages. Cm. Photocopy typescript. Manuscript of memoirs from 1938 through 1940 by Alfred and Claire Greybrook. Throughout these memoirs, Alfred recounts his time as a prisoner at Sachsenhausen, his subsequent release and immigration to Australia. Claire writes about her struggle obtaining immigration papers, the care of her family and many friends, and the harrowing voyage to Australia through mine infested waters. “Years ago I completed our Memoirs 1938/1940 in the German language. However after I left the Griesbach-Greybrook Family Tree to future generations, I would like that for all times it may be known WHY, WHEN and from WHERE our family came to Australia. There are so many Australians of German Descent, who know practically nothing about their forefathers. So I translated the Memoirs from German into English to the best of my ability. It is my ardent desire that this book and the Family Tree from generation to generation will always be passed on to the eldest son of the Greybrook family. ” (Foreward) Subjects: Concentration camp inmates -- Germany -- Sachsenhausen (Brandenburg) Deportation -- Germany.
