Three autograph letters, in a mixture of Dutch and Afrikaans, from Paul and Stefina Bronkhorst (?) of 'Tweefontein' farm, Mooi River district, Natal, to 'Pa en Ma' of 'Vergelegen' farm, Polela district, Natal, 1915. These letters are interesting for Afrikaner attitudes towards South African involvement in the Great War. The writer is critical of the 'Botha Governement.' The issue of South African involvement in German South-West Africa appears to have divided the Bronkhorst family. Trooper M.M. Bronkhorst (a brother) had gone to the front; while the letter-writers felt that Botha had no business invading DSWA.
