This edition first published in 1932 and reprinted with an introduction by H J Lethbridge by OUP in 1982. It provides a 'historical and intimate description' of Peking's chief places of interest, together with a remarkable picture of life in Peking at the beginning of the 20th century. Juliet Bredon was born in Peking and spent most of her life there.
