832 pages (complete). A hardy, sure copy. Crammed with stories, serials, features, interviews, cartoons. There is the regular, gloriously informative "Five Minutes with the Famous", the most instructive "On the Watchtower", competitions etc. August 20 1902, No 519, Vol XI - August 12, 1903 No 570 - Vol XI. From "Five Minutes with the Famous": "Dr Farquharson MP, heard Charles Dickens read in Edinburgh when he was a boy. At first he was disappointed : the great novelist was dressed rather too showily, and spoke in a 'high, Englishy way, which rather jarred on the ears of a Scottish boy unaccustomed to the accent of Cockayne'. When Dickens had been reading for a little while, however, all these things were forgotten, and his audience laughed or cried at his pleasure." This copy has some rumbustious wear. The imperial red boards are worn, scuffed and marked from storage and handling. They are benign and secure. The early and later pages have creasing, marks and wear. The contents, in general, are thrilling, energetic, companionable, clean, clear and certain. fk. Book Condition: Good. Binding: Hardcover.
