A Very Good copy. The pioneering cookbook authored by Lenna Frances Cooper (1875-1961) and Margaret Allen Hall, two dietitians who worked at the famous Battle Creek Sanitarium. The sanitarium was founded by members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. John Harvey Kellogg was the sanitarium's longtime director and promoted health regimens based on Seventh-day Adventist principles, European spas, and scientific innovations such as hydropathy and phototherapy. Cooper was inspired by Kellogg's approach to health and nutrition and advocated for clean, healthy living through a vegetarian diet. Most, if not all, of the recipes in The New Cookery are vegetarian, many of which incorporate legumes, nuts, and wheat as main ingredients.
