Twelve volumes, complete. Brown full leather binding with gilt decorations and lettering on spine. Five raised bands. 4 1/4" x 6 3/4." All pages of each volume, complete. Vol. 1: xl, [12] 1-299. Vol. 2: 364 pages. Vol. 3: 412 pages. Vol. 4: 384 pages. Vol. 5: 360 pages. Vol. 6: 394 pages. Vol. 7: 340 pages. Vol. 8: 407 pages. Vol. 9: 456 pages. Vol. 10: 376 pages. Vol. 11: 324 pages. Vol. 12: 437 pages and two additional pages in back advertising other books printed for R. Dodsley. Former owner's bookplate (black-and-white illustrated coat of arms) and "F.S.I" sticker tipped in on front pastedown of each volume except Vols. 11-12 which have the sticker but no bookplate. Pages are very clean and intact except for light to moderate foxing and slight offsetting from the printed text. Covers are very clean and intact overall but have rubbing and light to moderate wear to extremities. Binding is tight. Vols. 1, 4, 5-6, and 10-12 are missing spine labels. Each volume and the entire set are Very Good. A collection of English plays edited by Robert Dodsley. Vol. 1 has a list in front naming the plays in Vols. 1-10.
