EDITH AND OSBERT SITWELL : Twentieth Century Harlequinade and Other Poems

B.H.Blackwell, Oxford, 1916

First edition of this early and really quite uncommon Sitwell collaboration [of which 500 copies were printed]. Slim 8vo. 27pp + [i] publisher's advertisement. Sewn card wrappers, the wrappers defective, detached from the text block, with some taped repair, some quite noticeable staining around the natural fold, and a little light edge-wear and creasing, with a small area of loss from one corner. A nice bright copy internally, with a little light sporadic spotting throughout. Edith Sitwell's second book, she contributes seven poems, two of which were originally printed in the 'Daily Mirror' with the other five being hitherto unprinted and including 'Clown's Houses', issued here two years before her collection bearing that name. Osbert Sitwell's first book, he contributes two Great War poems (the first of which was originally printed in 'The Times' under a shortened title), plus one further poem, the latter two both being hitherto unprinted. Fifoot EA2 & OA1 / Reilly p.294. [A light item, UK postage will be reduced].. Book. Book Condition: Fair. Binding: Soft cover
