The boards are rubbed, edge worn and marked, particularly on the spine, but remain strong and whole, with some light fraying on the top and bottom edges of the spine. The gold gilt on the spine has dulled, but remains bright on the front board. Internally, there is a previous owner's inscription in ink on the front end page.
