Crown 8vo. 304pp. Blue cloth featuring a gilt-stamped Arthur Rackham series illustration (copies were issued in both blue and green cloth, but there appears to be no priority). Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. The title page printed and red and black, and with a red silk place-marker. Dukedom of Rutland coat of arms red-stamped to the half-title. With endpaper decorations, header pieces and various decorations in the text by Arthur Rackham, a tissue-protected frontispiece, and tissue-protected plates by various hands including two Ralph Hodgson colour plates. A touch of wear to the backstrip ends and to several corner tips. Free endpapers very lightly toned. Former owner bookplate (that of Annie Fothergill Brown) to the front pastedown, and a tiny clipping for a bookseller's catalogue to the base of the half-title. A very good copy. One of just nine titles issued under Dent's 'The Haddon Hall Library' series between 1899-1903, the series edited by George A. B. Dewar and the Marquess of Granby.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good.
