The firm published some of the finest prints of the day and had offices in Paris, London and New York. Jean-Baptiste Michel Adolphe Goupil (1806-93) is the founder of the firm and there was a Goupil Museum opened in Bordeaux in 1991. The firm had connections with Vincent van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec amongst many other famous artists of the day.
