Original billhead printed in black ink on light beige paper. Also includes handwriting in black ink and pencil. Datelined April 5, 1899 in Sacramento, California. 8 1/2" x 4 1/2." Billhead is very clean and intact but has light age toning, a few small punctures not affecting text, faint streaks on front, and chipping along left and right edges (slightly affects text). A Good copy. An original billhead from Henry Cowell & Company of Sacramento, California to "J. [W.?] [Kaseberg?]." Kaseberg bought one line item, " Lime." The printed header reads, "Bought of Henry Cowell & Co., Dealers in Lime, Cement, Plaster, Hair, Etc.; W. E. J. Baughman, Manager. 509 and 511 I Street." Printed text to the side lists other specialty products the company carries, "Santa Cruz Lime, San Juan Lime, Marble Valley Lime, Wotherspoon Plaster, Golden Gate Plaster, Marble Dust, English Portland Cement, Goat Hair, German Portland Cement, Cattle Hair, Monterey White Sand, Fire Clay, Fire Brick, Brick Dust, Sewer Pipe, Chimney Pipe.".
