An Inner Sanctum Mystery. Sammy Abbott solves another murder case - while his loving wife Ethel develops an alarming taste for pickles. 8.25"x5.25", 309 pages. Satisfaction Guaranteed. A POCKET FULL OF CLUES. Sammy Abbott, Special Investigator for the District Attorney's office, is a magnet for trouble. He was certainly minding his own business that day in the park when he found the gentleman on the bench. The remarkable part of this was that the gentleman had no head. It was the work of a moment for Sammy to decide that it was murder and that he ought to do something about it. However, other people had other ideas. Official orders sidetracked Sammy with an obviously cooked up assignment. But he refused the red herring and decided to find out for himself. With the loving but distracting help of his wife Ethel, he solves the most hair-raising case of his career. It is a case that leads Sammy to the Mayor's office and the murder there. It takes Sammy to the local radio station where he finds considerable hocus-pocus with program check records. It leads Sammy and Ethel on a wild chase into the Sierras, looking for a man they think has never been there. It leads, too, into the study of a dead man where an obliging murderer has left behind a pocket full of clues. Being a born skeptic, Sammy doesn't put too much faith in them. Ethel, on the other hand, decides that with them she can solve the case. She does. Only trouble is, she presents Sammy with four different air-tight solutions. There was the ground glass that implicated a red-headed bartender and his nervous cousin. There was the package of Life Savers that might have belonged to Pop, who wrote down license numbers on dollar bills. There were the broken matches and the black button. Most surprising clue of all, the weapon happened to be Sammy's gun. All this gives Sammy Abbott plenty of trouble. But it is Ethel who causes the most serious complication. And that's a secret the reader must discover for himself - in A Pocket Full of Clues.. Book Condition: Good. Binding: Hardcover. Jacket: Fair
