Rabbi Karp occupied pulpits in Swampscott, Mass. , and Kansas City, Mo. , and from 1956 was rabbi of Temple Beth El of Rochester, N. Y. He taught American Jewish history at the Jewish Theological Seminary, and has served as vice-president of the American Jewish Historical Society" (Reimer, EJ) .
