Brown paper wrappers backed with a thin strip of red leather. "Liberty Composition Book" printed on front with an illustration of the Liberty Bell. Former owner's name and location handwritten in black ink on front: "Verna Kasten, Mound, Minn." No date, circa 1940s. 6 3/4" x 8 1/4." Unpaginated, fifty-one pages, complete. Pages are very clean and intact except for browning and a small stain limited to bottom edge of text block. Covers are very clean and intact except for minuscule edge wear, slight wear along spine, and a few small stains on front. Binding is tight. A Very Good, almost Near Fine copy. An original manuscript cookbook handwritten and kept by Verna Kasten of Mound, Minnesota. The cookbook is written in black ink on lined pages of a composition book. The cookbook contains about sixty-one recipes, many of which are for desserts such as cakes, pies, and cookies. There are also a few recipes for entrees and other non-dessert dishes. Please note that exact temperatures in Fahrenheit or Celsius are not given for any of the recipes.
