No owner inscrptn and minus issued dw/dj.Bright,crisp,fresh and exceptionally clean and sharp-cornered,in the publisher's original burgundy cloth boards; with bright,crisp,blocked gilt circle with a bright, crisp,embossed gilt Ganesha (elephant head) device within,to the front/upper board and bright,crisp,non-oxidised,blocked gilt lettering to the spine/backstrip; rear panel plain and without decoration.Spine/backstrip bright,crisp, fresh and clean,appears uniform in colour and to be without sunning/fading,and no darkening. Whilst both head+foot of spine have gentle pushing with reciprocal creasing,there are no nicks,tears or splits to same.Top edge gilt,fore-edges with slight ageing/toning and very minimal and sporadic foxing/spotting; majority of contents bright,tight,clean,solid and sound - text body particularly - almost foxing-free - though some random pages between pp29-33 and pp42-61 minimally affected - mostly affected pages are those of the publisher's catalogue at it's rear.No intentional dog-ear reading creases to pages' corners,the only exception being the last 2pp of the catalogue's lower corner tips' with an accidental but small uniform corner creases to same.Plain white endpapers complete and intact, with no cracking or splits to either hinges but with minimal ageing and spotting to pastedowns and both the respective facing/opposing free endpapers are with faint off-setting from them.UK,8vo HB,1st edn,v-vipp+3-393pp [paginated] includes contents list/table,a mix of 11 poems and 13 stories; plus [unpaginated] foxed blank,faintly and lightly foxed/spotted half-title,clean title page,and individual story title separator pages with accompanying poem/verse to its reverse, and to the rear,6pp [unpaginated] publisher's 6pp part-catalogue, followed by 16pp [15 of 16pp paginated] continuation of catalogue.It is these pages of the catalogue that are the most affected by foxing/spotting - virtually every page and pp7-10 with a tiny fore-edge tear and subsequent fold and other wrinkling to those pages. Visually the exterior appearance is exceptional,and particularly internally,the book is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of it's age.It is only the interior faults described that prevent a slightly higher grading.Despite them,it really is still an exceptional copy for its overall cleanliness,brightness externally and completeness.
