This is a prose translation, one of many English translations of the most famous and popular work by Klopstock, "the Christian Homer." Two 18mo. vols. The set is offered as is: Only V. 2 has a frontispiece and an additional engraved title-page, which are apparently lacking in V. 1. The text is complete though some pages of explanatory notes (p.323-26 & 317-18), which belong at the end of V. 2, are misbound near to and at the end of V. 1. Contemporary bindings of full calf which are heavily worn. The leather is scaling, with spines chipped and joints starting. Text leaves are age- browned with some scattered foxing throughout, and occasional shallow dampstaining in margins. Offered with all faults.
