Original stereocard on yellow board. Two black and white photographs. No date, circa 1885. Board measures 7" x 4." Photographs measure 6 1/4" x 3 1/4." Former ownership signature in black ink on the back. Stereocard is very clean and intact overall. Repaired tear in the lower-right corner of the right image. On the left side of the board, the following text is printed: "P. E. Lasseson, Photographer." On the right side of the board, the following is printed: "Sioux Falls, Dakota." Title is printed below the photographs. Each photograph shows a scenic view of Sioux Falls from a higher elevation in what may be a park. A man is shown seated on a bench near a fountain, which is the focal point of the photographs. During the mid-1880s, P. E. Lasseson operated a photography studio in Sioux Falls in what was the Dakota Territory at the time. South Dakota did not become a state until 1889.. Photographic Image.
