672 pages (complete). A characterful copy of this first edition of the first publication for public circulation. This edition is of the first run of the first edition as it has the incorrect pagination for Kennington's line drawing of "The Forced Landing" (302-303, but in this edition 304-305). This was corrected in subsequent editions. The sable coloured cloth boards are much worn and scuffed and marked. They are benign, calm. Pages are not trimmed. The contents are mild-mannered, pleasing. They are, despite occasional flushes of foxing, clean, clear, comfortable, attractive, carefully printed (by Alden Press) and produced. A welcoming book. fk.
