Top edge gilt, others rough-trimmed. Marbled endpapers. A little fading to the backstrip, the corner tips rubbed, and with a little rubbing and chafing to extremities. Hinges a little tender. A very crisp copy. The author's fictionalized account of his failed marriage, lauded by Sigmund Freud (with whom the author had previously had several sessions) as the greatest psychological novel of the century..
