A dark comedy about a woman named Rinda Sue, who awaits execution in a jail cell and writes a confession about the various crimes committed against her and how she seeks revenge. Questions arise as to whether Rinda Sue is actually "insane" or whether her behavior is the only "sane" reaction in a paranoid world during the McCarthy Era. Mary Mackey (b. 1945) is a Sacramento author and academic. She has written many poetical works and novels. Several of them center on themes of feminism and environmental conservation. Mackey was born in Indianapolis but later moved to Sacramento where she became a Professor of English and Writer-in-Residence at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS; or, Sacramento State).
