Signature of William Bradford Reed in black ink on a piece of beige paper tipped in on yellow paper. Signed, "W. B. Reed." No date, 1830s-1860s. Paper with signature: 1 3/4" x 3/4." Yellow paper backing: 3 1/2" x 1 3/4." Ink inscription, likely by another author, written on yellow paper below Reed's signature. Signature is very clean and intact. Both pieces of paper are very clean and intact except for a minuscule amount of glue residue visible around edges of beige paper. A Very Good copy. William Bradford Reed (1806-1876) was an American politician, diplomat, lawyer, professor, and journalist. Reed served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1834-1835 and Pennsylvania State Senate for the 1st District in 1841. He was also the Pennsylvania Attorney General in 1838 and District Attorney of Philadelphia from 1851-1856. Additionally, he served as a diplomat to China from 1857-1858. In academics, Reed taught as a law professor at the University of Pennsylvania in 1850.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
