Though an eastablished author, this debut novel of the Rameses trilogy(The Reign of Osiris planned publishing 2022,posthumously by author's son) an uncomon title to locate, possibly with a low print run. Ramses the Great lives. . . . . .in this electrifying entertainment where Anne Rice, author of the best-selling Vampire Chronicles, has surpassed herself, taking to glorious limits the theme she has explored to such chilling effect - the interplay of the undead with their mortal brethren. Ramses the Great reawakens in the drawing rooms of Edwardian London and becomes infatuated with adventurous and beautiful Julie Stratford, heiress, since her father's recent death in Egypt,to a shipping fortune, and centre of a group of jaded aristocrats with appetites of their own to appease. Though Ramses is immortal,he is all too human.Once back in Cairo - as Dr Ramsey, expert in Egyptology - he is haunted by memories of his last reincarnation as Cleopatra's lover. His longing for the Queen of Egypt drives him to commit an act which wreaks havoc with the hearts and minds of those around him, putting all their lives in gravest danger. Gripping and entertaining, terrifying and erotic, 'The Mummy or Ramses the Damned' is a tour de force of storytelling.
