In 1931 Prof. Jack Robinson, a Cumberland and Western Style Wrestling champion, came to South Africa, from England to wrestle. He had learnt Ju Jitsu in England from two Japanese experts, after having been persuaded during wrestling “challenge matches” that Ju Jitsu was a force to be reckoned with. In 1933 he started teaching Ju Jitsu and soon had schools operating is six major Cities in South Africa..
