Circa 1900, sized 6 x 9.5 inches, on heavy gloss paper, generally very clean and bright. The author, b. Mayville, Dodge County, Wisconsin, June 24, 1864, was a pharmacist, politician, and Congressman from Wisconsin. He graduated from the Chicago College of Pharmacy in 1885, worked as a druggist in Chicago for three years, and in 1888 returned to Mayville where he operated a drug business for many years. Sauerhering was active in local politics, and in 1894 was elected to Congress. He was re-elected in 1896, and served two terms, 1895 - 1899, after which he returned to his drug business in Mayville. He also served as Mayville superintendent of public works from 1909 - 1918, and justice of the peace, 1912 - 1920.. Print. Book Condition: VG.
