He received his rabbinical diploma from a school in Grosswardein, Hungary. Weiss immigrated to the United States and, in Chicago in 1876, he became a naturalized U. S. Citizen. He served as rabbi for several congregations in the South and in Columbus, Ohio (1894) ; Hamilton, Ontario; Palestine, Texas (1903-1905) and Braddock, Pennsylvania (1905-1909) .
