The first edition was published in 1973 by Tom Stacey who went bankrupt before the book's publication and only a very few copies were available. Severn House had most of them and cancelled the title page and issued them in 1976 with a different dustwrapper. The Severn House issue is very scarce but the Tom Stacey issue is almost impossible to find. It seems that any Tom Stacey copies were acquired by a book distributor, who put small address labels over the details on the copyright page and the back flap of the dustwrapper. they also price clipped & repriced the front flap with a small £2.25 nett sticker. Pages slightly browned otherwise a clean and sound copy of a scarce item in a slightly worn and rubbed wrapper that has a deep crease mark to top margin of front panel. Stock number: 81787.
