The focus of the selection is clearly in German-speaking countries, including some women who were taken into account. The scope of the biographies varies from a few lines to extensive multi-page designs. The aim of the book was to work on the presentation of the outstanding influence of Jews in science and art on a political equality with the Christian citizens. With portraits of Meyerbeer, Jacoby, Halevy, Bendemann, Simon, and Priesser. Subjects: Jews -- Biography. Covers heavily soiled and stained. Light rubbing to edges.
