Maine's agriculture, population, natural resources, boundaries etc. Moses Greenleaf's promotion of Maine as a separate entity from Massachusetts began with his "Map of the District of Maine," 1815. When Maine became a state in 1820, he published a revised map; this was followed by the later edition with atlas. Overall fair in a somewhat fragile binding.

The cards are for several occasions: Christmas (13), Easter (25), sympathy (3), Valentine's day (2) and birthday (3). Almost half of the cards list the publisher's name: Marcus Ward (15), L. Prange (4), S. Hildesheimer (2), and R. Tuck (1), but the others do not. The book is O MAY I JOIN THE CHOIR INVISIBLE, by George Eliot, and other favorite poems (Boston: D. Lothrop and Co., 1884) bound in beautiful chromolithographed flexible covers illustrated with flowers, printed in deep shades of purple and gold, and trimmed with white fringe.
